I am an oil painter who occasionally dabbles in acrylic paint. I love to draw with charcoal on paper, but I find that a mechanical pencil on paper suffices.
My work explores the relationship between humans, nature, and the in between that is not so easily seen. I have been fascinated by the work of Renaissance artists along with metaphysical philosophers as they explored the topics of human consciousness, the nature of the universe, and human's relationship with religion. I have always found traces of those themes in my own work.
Recently, I have been inspired by visionary art, surrealism, and nature as I’ve noticed a shift in working with more colors and scenery and less of an emphasis on just depicting the human form.
I’m currently working on more pieces that express my new found interest in nature and surrealism.
